The purpose of the website is to:
Provide an easily accessible document for front line Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations*, that provides detail of what infrastructure support is available and to whom.
Provide a list of all the key voluntary and community sector based Infrastructure Organisations in Leeds and what they do
Increase knowledge about the Voluntary and Community Sector.
Raise the profile of the work carried out by infrastructure organisations and the Leeds Infrastructure Consortium.
What is ‘Infrastructure Support’?
The provision of infrastructure functions (i.e. support and development, co-ordination, representation, and promotion) to frontline voluntary and community sector organisations.
The aim of LIC is to work together to try to meet the needs of frontline voluntary and community organisations. We will do this by:
Meeting, discussing and identifying issues of concern.
Supporting and promoting and improving (where necessary) existing channels of communication that put forward the views of VCS infrastructure organisations to the statutory and private sectors.
Working together to address gaps in provision.
Who can Join LIC?
LIC is open to any Voluntary and Community Sector infrastructure organisation based in or working in Leeds as long as their primary purpose is the provision of infrastructure functions (as outlined above).
